What We Do
Three Services, Each Done Carefully
Pelita Adil offers a narrow set of family law services. This is a deliberate choice — it allows us to know each area of our practice deeply rather than lightly covering many.
Back to HomeOur Approach
How We Work Through Each Matter
Every matter at Pelita Adil begins with a careful conversation. Before documents are drafted or proceedings commenced, we take the time to understand the full picture of what a client is facing — financially, practically, and in terms of what they are hoping to achieve.
This is not a formality. Family legal matters carry consequences that extend well beyond the immediate issue. A maintenance arrangement has implications for housing, for the needs of children, and for the earning lives of both spouses. A divorce settlement shapes how two people live for years afterward. We want the documents and orders we produce to be ones that can actually be lived with.
Throughout each engagement, we communicate clearly, move at a pace the client can follow, and flag any issue that requires a decision before proceeding.
Initial Enquiry
You reach out by phone, email, or the contact form. We acknowledge your message within one working day and arrange a suitable time to speak.
Advisory Conversation
We meet in person or by video call to understand your situation and explain your legal position under Malaysian law. No commitment is required at this stage.
Written Engagement
If you choose to proceed, we issue a written engagement letter confirming scope, fee, and next steps. Work begins only once this is agreed.
Preparation and Filing
We prepare the necessary documents, correspond with the relevant courts or registrars, and keep you informed at each stage.
Completion and Handover
Once the matter concludes, we provide a final summary and copies of all documents. You leave with a clear picture of where things stand.
Spousal Maintenance Discussion
A respectful advisory session for spouses considering or facing a maintenance application under the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976. We explain the relevant provisions in plain English, discuss the realistic range of outcomes, and help you think through the practical effect on your household. The session is informative rather than prescriptive — you leave with a clearer picture, and the decision about next steps remains entirely yours.
What is covered
- Explanation of Section 77–79 of the Act and how courts apply them
- Assessment of the relevant factors in your particular circumstances
- Realistic range of maintenance amounts — not a figure, but an informed range
- Practical household impact discussion
- Overview of the options available — application, negotiation, consent order
Fixed advisory fee
RM 330
Divorce by Mutual Consent
Considered, measured legal support for couples who have reached a shared decision to part ways and wish to do so with as little additional strain as possible. We prepare the petition under Section 52 of the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976, draft the financial and parenting arrangements that accompany it, and present the matter to the appropriate Malaysian High Court. Communication remains in plain English and unhurried throughout.
Scope of work

- Consent terms covering property, maintenance, and children
- Coordination of mandatory cooling-off period where applicable
